Site Structure

As this image suggests, supervision is much broader than a supervisor and their candidate. A university offers supervision through its policies and procedures, through infrastructure and resources, through its intellectual climate, as well as providing excellent individuals and teams to work with candidates. Hence, while supervisors are critical to a successful research education experience, the research environment that students experience is similarly critical. They are part of a wider support network, and for many, a network that reaches globally.
