Examination

The examination stage is another crucial stage of a students's candidature. We outline four steps which involve supervisory assistance:

  1. Preparing for examination: on this page we offer guidance on the ANU process for which you will need to prepare your students, as well as suggesting ideas for dealing with particular stresses that may emerge at this stage. We discuss how examiners approach the reading and assessment of theses, to help advise students preparing their theses for submission.

  4. The results: this page discusses what happens after examination. We outline how candidates feel about this process, and various recommendations that examiners make - including the requirement for minor corrections or even substantial revision before successful completion, and the final deposit of the library copy of the thesis.
